Who is a Sahabah ( A Companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ?
The Jumhur (vast majority) - Allah knows best - define the Sahabi as one
who
1. saw the Prophet ﷺ even for a split second
2. believed in him when seeing him
3. died a Muslim.
One who saw the Prophet ﷺ while a disbeliever then believed in him
only after the time of the Prophet ﷺ, is a Tabiʿi. The latter case is
the rare instance mentioned by the scholars of "a Tabiʿi who saw the
Prophet ﷺ."
