More On Hands (The Albaniyyun Speak)
Q
as-Salaamu`alaikum wa raHmatullahi wa barakaatuh dear respected
brother:
jazak Allahu khairun, you are right that these small matters of position
of hands in salah should not supercede more important issues to us muslims
such as those you mentioned.
However, on the same token dear brother, we are not commanded to be
"hanbali`oon", we were commanded to be upright muslims following the
blessed noble Prophet Muhammad (saws). My concern is that some dear
brothers go to any extent to prove their madhab and the fatwa of that
madhab when it is clearly wrong or weak and at the same time leave a clear
saheeh/authentic position. Was Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) perfect, or did he
error? Since he was not perfect and he errerd in his ijtihad which Allah
ta`ala will give him the reward, we are commanded by Imam Ahmad and the
Sharee`a to follow the correct authentic opinion (that is if we know about
it)... For instance, the issue of hands in the prayer, yes, the issue is
broad as Imam Ahmad (ra) said, but the clear authenticated position is that
hands should be on the chest as the hadeeth of wa`el (ra) and others prove.
Not to make a big deal abou these small matters of jurisprudence, but still
a muslim sticks to the true authentic position because he is obligated to
follow haqq...and this is why we supplicate " Allahuma arenal haqqa haqqan
war zuqna ittiba`a...(to the end of the du`aa)...
below i have attached a fairly detailed article that discusses the issue
of position of hands in salah and insha`Allah i hope it sheds some light
for us so that we may always try to pray and do things as the best of
creation did (sallal lahu alayhi wa salam)...wallahu ta`ala a`laam...

wa `alaykum al-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
If this is truly the case, then why bother subscribing to a group where
the topic is the Hanbali madhhab according to the late classic Hanbali
scholars?
You say that a very minute Hanbali position regarding liquid human waste
"seems" to be contradictory: well, don't you find it explicitly
contradictory that you agree in writing that where hands are put is really
is not a big deal and then take up the chase?
