Today's ICJ ruling is truly historic. For many years, legal scholars and NGOs have accused Israel of the crime of apartheid. People were attacked for saying this and even cancelled. Today the accusation comes from the international court itself: Israel is an apartheid regime.

An astounding advisory opinion from the ICJ. The entire enterprise of the occupation, from the settlements to Israel's responsibility and malfeasance as an occupying power and up to the de facto annexation has been deemed in stark violation of international law.
This does not stop the Gazan genocide. It does not bring back the tens of thousands of innocent lives taken brutally. Still, this is an important, momentous day. One of the ways in which Israel has stalled and obfuscated is generating a tsunami of specifities. [With this ICJ rule] no more.
We [Isra-l]3 like to explain our oppressive policies by recourse to never ending complexity. Every criminal act is broken down into myriad details and circumstances that will, ultimately, justify the act itself. This privilege has been stripped away. It is all rotten, root to top.
While concrete guidance was issued - Israel must end the occupation, give Palestinians their land back or compensate them financially - that is not the breakthrough, as it is not strictly or immediately enforceable. It is about the articulation of a holistic view.
All of it [i.e. all of Isra-lic policy] is criminal … We are criminals.
Once again, this isn't yet about enforcement. It is about a return to sense, a rejection of the nihilistic, racist fantasy Israel has been claiming is actual reality. Israel's decades of gaslighting is done. It is all crooked, smoke and mirrors, a nightmare that must end.

The patience, bravery and determination of the people of Gaza has finally forced the world to acknowledge the wrong that has been done to them.
Today, the International Court of Justice, the highest legislative court in the world, ruled unequivocally that Israel is an Occupier State engaging in numerous illegal activities, and stated that Israel should immediately dismantle its settlements and evacuate from all occupied lands.
While the Court does not have the power to enforce this ruling, and perhaps little with change with regards to our own country's fanatical allegiance to the Apartheid regime, it is nonetheless a good verdict that is long overdue, and bodes the changing tide in global sentiment.
It's just a matter of time before justice is delivered, and the Palestinians shall be free.

If I was an Israeli with an IQ above room temperature, I would fully celebrate the ICJ ruling on Israel's illegal occupation & apartheid.
The court is calling for a 2-state solution that allows Israel to keep 78% of historic Palestine & be fully embraced in the region per the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. The conflict would end & Hamas would lay down its weapons (as they formally pledged twice recently).
Instead, the entire Israeli political mainstream is going feral & hurling random smears at the ICJ that it's "antisemitic", "pro-Hamas", "Islamist", "terror enabler".
Isra-l is blinded by self-destructing greed, arrogance & supremacy.

The World Court ruled this afternoon that Israel's 57-year military occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza has mutated into an illegal act of annexation.
The ruling is earth-shattering for many reasons.
It confirms that Israel meets the legal definition of an apartheid state.
It points to the fact that Israel's creation of hundreds of Jewish-only colonies on Palestinian land is inherently tied to a programme of ethnic cleansing.
It reaffirms the legal reality that Israel has no "right of self-defence" when its annexation is a permanent and overt act of aggression against the Palestinian people.
It strongly suggests that for decades the West has been colluding in Israel's crimes against humanity, just as it is now actively complicit in Israel's genocide in Gaza.
It bolsters the case, made by prosecutors at the World Court's sister court, the International Criminal Court, that Netanyahu and the rest of the Israeli leadership are war criminals and should be arrested.
And it concludes that the Palestinians are owed massive reparations.
At a bare minimum, western governments must recognise the state of Palestine and impose sanctions on Israel until it withdraws from the occupied territories.
Watch them continue to do the exact opposite.
Watch them pretend that today's ruling never happened.
Watch them continue to make a mockery of international law.

The supreme judicial organ of the UN has confirmed what the Palestinians, some liberated Israelis, serious legal scholarship & the human rights community worldwide have steadily denounced:
Israel's 57yo occupation is UNLAWFUL, nothing concerning it should be considered as legal by member states & UN agencies alike and Israel must dismantle it at once, together with its illegal settlement enterprise, the apartheid that has sustained it and also offer reparations to the Palestinians.
And now, let's apply international law, starting with stopping the #genocide the unlawful occupier is committing, imposing sanctions on it & ensuring immediate #protection of the Palestinians under its rule.

The World Court has just rejected all Israeli, US & western objections, ruled that the Israeli occupation of Gaza & the West Bank, including East Jerusalem (and all settlements), is entirely unlawful & declares Israel is committing racial segregation/apartheid in the OPT.
Importantly, they also ruled that the Oslo agreements do not and cannot trump the obligations of international law, which protect the rights of the Palestinian people.
And it rules that Israel must evacuate all settlers, dismantle settlements and the wall, provide full reparations to Palestinian victims, and allow all Palestinians who were forced out to return.
All states and international organizations must end any aid or assistance to the occupation and must take action to ensure that Israel complies and ends the occupation.
All decisions had overwhelming support across the court. As usual in Israel cases, Judge Sebutinde voted against every decision (sometimes joined by Abraham (France) and Aurescu (Romania)).
This is an historic decision, codifying what has long been known in the international legal community, but giving further support to the struggle for Palestinian liberation & providing another stepping stone in the path toward ending apartheid, colonialism & genocide in Palestine.
