Israeli officials authorizing and defending soldiers for premeditated murder of Palestinian children is alarmingly horrific, says the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights, expressing grave concern for the lives of unarmed protesters, including children, taking part in demonstrations along the Gaza-Israel separation fence.

The most recent statement by IDF Gen. (res.) Tzvika Fogel on Israel’s Kan radio encouraging the shooting of unarmed children posing no threat to soldiers’ life is incomprehensible and shocking, added the Geneva-based Euro-Med Monitor, in a statement issued today.

Asked if the “IDF [should] rethink its use of snipers” fatally shooting unarmed protesters, Fogel responded that, “any person… ,^[6]

Question: where are Western, European, or Arab leaders who stand up to do everything in order to stop this lunatic, murderous entity "between the river and the sea", and call them to account? This complicity is horrible to witness. But the judgement will come down on them, for sure.

(Apart from the stories by the doctors quoted above), heart-wrenching testimonies from other doctors who volunteered in Gaza further highlight the catastrophic impact on children. An American medic recounted treating explosive injuries and burns, wounds rarely seen in the US. A trauma nurse from Oregon spoke of the heartbreak of seeing children with glitter on their fingernails and discoloured hair, symbols of their lost innocence. She described the frustration and despair of working in an ICU where no wounded patients survived.

These testimonies are just a few among countless others that reveal the unimaginable horrors faced by Gaza’s children. As Dr Tanya Haj-Hassan noted, many children are missing, trapped under rubble or buried in mass graves, adding another layer to the tragedy. The collective stories from these medical professionals underscore the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where the Israeli military is deliberately targeting the youngest and most vulnerable. The testimonials are endless and heartbreaking, and Dr Perlmutter’s account is just a drop in the sea of suffering endured by Gaza’s children. ^[7]

End of April for the first couple weeks. And then there's sniper bullets. I have children that were shot twice.

You're saying that children in Gaza are being shot by snipers?

Doctor Mark Perlmutter
Definitively. I have two children that I have photographs of that were shot so perfectly in the chest I couldn't put my stethoscope over their heart more accurately and directly on the side of the head in the same child. No toddler gets shot twice by mistake by the world's best sniper. And they're dead center shots. In fact, more than 20 doctors recently in Gaza also told Sunday morning about gunshot wounds to children. One American doctor told us he even reviewed CT scans to confirm what he saw because he "didn't believe that this many children could be admitted to a single hospital with gunshot wounds to the head." Some shootings have been captured on video.

So of all the disaster zones you've seen, how does Gaza compare?

All of the disasters I've seen combined. Combined. 40 mission trips, 30 years, ground zero, earthquakes. All of that combined doesn't equal the level of carnage that I saw against civilians in just my first week in Gaza.

Almost exclusively children. I've never seen that before. Never seen that. I've seen more incinerated children than I've ever seen in my entire life combined. I've seen more shredded children in just the first week.

Shredded. What do you mean?

Missing body parts, being crushed by buildings, the greatest majority, or bomb explosions, the next greatest majority. We've taken shrapnel as big as my thumb out of eight-year-olds.

TV clip The UN reports that to date, more than 80 percent of Gaza's population has been displaced and the majority of its buildings destroyed. A reality which has taken its own toll on the well-being of children.

How can you measure that? I can't measure my own. How do you be an orphan watching your family, you know, melted in front of you and shredded in front of you? How do you fix that, ever fix that?

You know I don't even just mean large pieces of shrapnel - from the tile floor and the wall or whatever being ripped up and thrown into people - that happens too.

But literally the just the dust, the debris, everything is just embedded in the patient's skin and again it makes clean surgical just simply impossible.

You'd have to rip the person's all their skin off to make them - to sanitize anything, and then the third thing was the evidence like you mentioned that we wrote,

the evidence of the directed violence specifically at children.

I mean, you can maybe argue that a bomb went off and a kid just happened to be nearby, but it's not believable, that the best-trained marksman in the world accidentally shot a three-year-old boy in the head, accidentally shot a two-year-old girl twice in the head, accidentally shot—you know, it just goes on and on, and that was—I knew about it before I went, but to see it in person, it was really pretty shocking.
