Commendation By The Great Scholar Of Morocco,
The Diligent Hadith Scholar,
Prof. `Abdullah Guenon Al-Hasani,
President Of The Moroccan League Of Scholars And Member Of The Islamic World League, Mecca

“The role of scholars in our times is to awaken emotion and zeal in the souls of the Muslims, and to encourage their leaders and rulers to stand up to the enemies of Islam who are enslaving the defenceless believers” in many places and countries.

“They err in their understanding of the reality of intermediaries, and recklessly rush to the judgement that any intermediary is shirk ...”
From: Notions That Must Be Corrected
Shaykh Muhammad b. `Alawi al-Maliki al-Hasani, p.53ff

(Until it reached the point where no mosque was built) without them - yet this was not done in the Prophet’s ﷺ sallAllahu `aleihi wa sallam ) time.

The list goes on; the point is that if someone is overwhelmed by love of al-Mustafa, the Prophet of Mercy, and the Intercessor of the Umma (May Allah bless him, give him peace, ennoble him, honour him, laud him, and magnify him), and so celebrates his birth, it is better that we let him be, not criticise him and make a song and dance over an issue the least of which can be said is that it is permissible.

More incredible still is that a believer could somehow be opposed to the visitation of the Prophet’s ( sallAllahu `aleihi wa sallam ) grave, when he himself told us to visit graves—any grave—to derive admonishment and reflection therefrom, and to visit the graves of our parents, forebears and relatives as a means of maintaining family ties, and to pray for them. It is narrated that he ( sallAllahu `aleihi wa sallam ) sought his Lord’s permission to visit his mother’s grave, and He gave him leave to do so. How could we not visit the grave of the noblest of Messengers, by whose means Allah guided us to the straight path, when he is the most gracious of humanity to us, and the most beloved, more beloved to us than our parents and our children, and our own selves?

There is no doubt that to omit to visit his grave, especially in the case of those who perform Hajj and comes a stone or two’s throw from Medina, is the gravest kind of shunning, whether or not the Hadith "Whoever performs Hajj and does not visit me, has shunned me" is authentic. Leave people and their faith alone, 0 you who seek to criticise!

If your own emotions are not moved by these matters, keep to yourselves, and do not seek to prevent Allah’s servants from opening themselves to His Divine grace, which He grants to whom He wills. The issue is exactly as the Truthful, Honest One ( sallAllahu `aleihi wa sallam ) put it: ’I am only an apportioner; Allah is the giver.’ Thanks are due to the venerable Sayyid Muhammad ’Alawī for producing these studies, and correcting these notions. I believe that he has gone as far as can be gone with them, so there is no need for him to busy himself with debating them any further. The Hadith says: ’Whoever leaves off arguing whilst he is in the right, Allah shall build for him a palace in the upmost part of Paradise. Whoever leaves it when he is in the wrong, Allah shall build for him a palace in the outskirts of Paradise.’
